Throwback to a decade ago(or more)
So, about a week ago, I just retrieved my father's old desktop PC. I think it is about ten years old or so.
Specs :
Intel E6550
2GB DDR3 RAM
320GB hard drive
Intel GMA
Asus P5KPL AM-SE
This PC already got Windows 7 installed from a few years ago, probably since the last time it was used. And it has never been connected to the internet since ever it left factory. So I decided it'd be good to shove in some Windows updates and service packs. I plugged in an ethernet connection an did a quick set-up. It didn't take long for it to connect and soon it started downloading updates. However this thing is very slow, so not long ago I decided to install a fresh Windows 10 on this PC.
Amazingly, this old dog runs faster on Windows 10 (which I thought it'd be super slow due to the "only" 2GB of RAM). However, I decided not to run resource hogging software, which might just knock it down. But since I connected it to internet using LAN, the speed is just immense (I live in Indonesia, which the most expensive monthly internet subscription will give about 100Mbps unlimited internet, and I have a 30Mbps subscription). By the time I wrote this I used the PC as a movie streaming device.
