5 Annoying Things on Oppo F1s

1. Design

I'm not a fan of Apple, while this phone tried so hard to look like an iPhone 6S Plus from 100 meters away. While they advertised this phone has sleek metal body, the only metal you can see is the back. Looking closer at the back, there is 2 cheap plastic panels and the metal plate got scratched easily. And on the side the frame of the phone is also another cheap plastic with extensive paint to look like metal. The front side is quite nice-looking, fortunately. Its neat, clean, and still tried to look like an iPhone. The front is white, on the top there is a 16-megapixel camera, earpiece, and proximity&light sensor; on the bottom, there is a home button with fingerprint reader and capacitive buttons.

2. Display

The display unit is 5.5-inch with HD resolution. Meanwhile the competitors with nearly same price tag have FHD display. While the display is bright enough, it's not sharp and vibrant. Also the display is surrounded by some additional black bezel, which is really disturbing for me. Also the display isn't AMOLED, the Samsung Galaxy C5 has an AMOLED with slightly higher price tag.

3. ColorOS UI

The Oppo uses a customized Android called ColorOS. And again everything is designed to look like Apple's, from the system apps icon, phone dialer, settings menu, even the notification bar. And if you want to activate "Developer Options", you have to fill in a captcha first! and after you enabled it and went back to homescreen, it constantly displays a notification on the top saying that the Developer Options is turned on and your device might malfunction.

4. Cameras

This phone said to be the selfie expert. Well the front camera has higher resolution than the rear. I rarely use the front camera, to be honest. I shoot pics using the rear cam, and while it's fast enough, it's not so sharp and PDAF doesn't always work smoothly.

5. Popularity

I live in Indonesia, where Oppo is quite popular these days. Even quite some of my friends also use this phone. Somehow I think this is a drawback of the Oppo, I want something different, something that not anyone use, something more unique and high quality. To be honest, when I was walking around in public and spotted another people carrying this phone, I'm like "damn, I use the same phone that he/she uses?"

Conclusion

The F1s isn't a pretty phone, it is not so cheap compared to what you get. I'm not going to buy another Oppo phone.
